What Ansa keeps from a call.

No audio, a text transcript for 30 days, and a permanent record of when the call happened and how it ended. Here is exactly what is stored, where, and for how long.

The short version

Ansa never records call audio. It keeps a written transcript and the caller's details for 30 days after each call, then clears them. The basic record of the call (when, how long, how it ended) stays in your dashboard for as long as you have an account.

No audio recording

There is no recording of any call, so there is nothing to play back or download. If a caller asks, Sarah tells them This call is not being recorded.

While the call is live, the audio streams to OpenAI, Ansa's AI provider, so Sarah can hear the caller and answer. Ansa stores no audio file. Under OpenAI's terms, as described in our privacy policy, OpenAI may keep content derived from the audio for up to 30 days to monitor for abuse, and does not use it to train its models.

What Ansa does keep is a text transcript of the conversation. That is what you read on each call's page.

What clears after 30 days

Thirty days after each call, a daily cleanup removes:

The transcript. The caller's phone number. The caller's name, phone number and address on any booking Sarah made. On a lead, the caller's details, the summary and their answers.

This applies to every account, active or cancelled. There is no setting to keep transcripts longer, and none to clear them sooner.

What stays

The call itself stays on your Callspage with its date and time, duration and outcome. A booking keeps its appointment time, service and the record number from your CRM. That is why your Overview numbers and recovered revenue estimate don't drop when old calls are cleared.

What changes on an old call: the caller shows as Unknown caller, the transcript reads No transcript for this call, Call back is greyed out (on a phone it disappears), and a phone number search no longer finds it.

Copies outside Ansa

Your calendar or CRM.Anything Sarah wrote there (the customer, the appointment, the lead) belongs to you in that system. Ansa's 30-day cleanup doesn't touch it.

Your alerts. Texts and emails Ansa sent you about a call stay on your phone and in your inbox.

The Ansa team. Within the 30 days, our team may read transcripts to review calls, suggest fixes in What Sarah learned, and handle support. Access is limited and logged.

Where it is stored

Ansa runs in the United States. The voice service is hosted with Fly.io in Ashburn, Virginia, and your data is stored with Supabase in the US East region. Ansa does not train AI models on your calls.

OpenAI's processing is not pinned to a US region, so it may happen outside the US under OpenAI's terms. The full list of providers and what each one handles is on the subprocessors page.

Editing and deleting

You can't edit a transcript, and there is no button to delete a call. To have a call removed, email hello@tryansa.ai with its date and time. The same address handles requests to delete your whole account.

If you cancel, you have 30 days to get a copy of your data before it is deleted. For a quick list of calls, use the Export button on the Calls page, covered in Exporting your calls. For everything, see Getting a copy of your data.
