Updating your card
Open Billing
It's in the sidebar under Account. Your plan card shows the plan, the monthly price and your next invoice date.
Click Update payment method
This opens a secure billing page hosted by Stripe, which handles Ansa's payments. Ansa doesn't store your card number.
Add the new card
Enter the new card and save it. Your next monthly charge goes to that card.
The Stripe page only changes your payment method. To cancel, use the Cancel subscription link on Billing itself. To switch plans, email hello@tryansa.ai.
Invoices and receipts
Charges run through Stripe, and invoices are sent monthly. There's no invoice download in the dashboard. If you need a copy of an invoice for your books, email hello@tryansa.ai with the month you need and we'll send it.
When a payment fails
There's no grace period. The first time a monthly renewal is declined, Sarah is paused immediately and stops answering calls. Any calls your phone forwards to Sarah go unanswered until the payment is sorted out.
You find out three ways:
1. A message saying your Ansa payment didn't go through and your AI receptionist is paused until you update your card. It comes by text to your Mobile phone if Text alerts are on in Profile, otherwise by email.
2. A banner across your dashboard, Your AI receptionist is paused, saying Sarah is paused and is not answering calls, with an Update card button.
3. A Your receptionist is paused alert on your Notifications page.
Billing also changes: it shows Your subscription is on hold, with an Open billing portal button to fix the card and an option to cancel.
Getting Sarah back
Update your card through the banner or through Billing. As soon as the payment goes through, Sarah starts answering again on her own. You don't need to reactivate anything or redo setup, and you get a Payment received alert to confirm.
If the new attempt is declined too, you get a Your card was declinedalert and Sarah stays paused. Try a different card, or check with your bank that it isn't blocking the charge.
If it stays unpaid
If your account is still paused 30 days after the failed payment, Ansa builds a download bundle of your data and you get 14 more days to download it. Billing then shows Your account is closingwith the date the account closes and your Ansa number is released. A released number can't be recovered.
Until that date, Update card on the same notice still switches Sarah back on once the payment goes through. There is no other way to restart a closed account from Billing.
If you've decided not to continue, you don't have to wait that out. The Your subscription is on hold card on Billing has a cancel option: your subscription stops renewing, and 14 days later the account closes and the number is released. See Cancelling, and what happens to your data, and remember to undo your call forwarding.
Troubleshooting
Update payment method shows an error.
The Stripe page couldn't open. Wait a minute and try again. If it keeps failing, email hello@tryansa.ai.
I updated my card but Sarah is still paused.
Saving a card isn't the same as paying. Sarah resumes when the outstanding payment succeeds, and you'll see a Payment received alert when it does.
If the paused banner is still there after a while, email us and we'll check the payment on our side.
I never got the payment failed text.
If Text alerts are off, it went to your email instead. Otherwise check the Mobile phone number in Profile. Either way, the alert is also on your Notifications page. See Which alerts you get, and where.
