What your hours control
Sarah picks up 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Your hours don't switch her on and off. They tell her two things: which appointment times she can offer, and when to follow your after-hours rule instead of handling the call like a normal business-hours call.
Everything here lives on the Hourspage, headed "When Sarah says you're open." Saved changes apply on Sarah's next call.
Setting your weekly hours
Open Hours and pick a day
Each day of the week has its own row. On a computer, click Edit on the day. On a phone, tap the day.
Mark it open or closed
Turn the day off to mark it Closed. Sarah won't offer appointments on closed days. On a computer, the switch on the day's row saves as soon as you flip it.
Set one open and close time
Each open day has one range, in half-hour steps between 5:00 AM and 11:30 PM. The close time has to be after the open time.
Save
On a computer, click Savein the day's window. On a phone, tap Save changes at the bottom of the page. You need at least one open day before you can go live.
Only one range per day is supported. If you close for lunch or work a split shift, set the day from your first opening to your last closing. Overnight hours that run past midnight can't be entered.
Your time zone
Hours are in your local time, and the page shows which time zone it is using. The time zone isn't picked on this page. It follows your Main address on the Profile page. If the time zone is wrong, fix the address there and the time zone follows it.
Choosing an after-hours rule
When a call comes in while you're closed, Sarah still picks up and then follows one rule. On a computer you pick one of three in the After hours box. On a phone you pick one of the first two, with emergency paging as a separate switch below them.
Take a message and send it to you.Sarah takes the caller's details and sends them to you as an alert: by text if Text alerts are on in Profile and a Mobile phone is saved there, otherwise by email. You decide whether to book.
Book for the next open slot. Sarah offers to book the caller on your next business day, or arranges a callback. Good for routine work.
Page me when it sounds like an emergency. When a call sounds like a genuine emergency, Sarah alerts you (by text if Text alerts are on, otherwise by email) and tries once to put the caller through to your Emergency phone, or your Mobile phone if that is blank. Every other after-hours call gets a message taken. She decides from the whole call, not from an exact word match.
Holidays and one-off closures
There are no holiday or closure dates. Your hours are one weekly schedule. To close for a single day, mark that weekday Closed before the day, then open it again afterward. Remember that the change applies to that weekday every week until you switch it back, so set yourself a reminder.
Troubleshooting
Sarah offered a time when I'm closed.
Check that the day and times on the Hours page are right, then check the time zone shown at the top. If it's wrong, your Main address on Profile is probably wrong.
Sarah only offers times that are inside your Hours and also free in your calendar or CRM. If the Hours page and the time zone are both right and it still happens, email us the date and time of the call.
I can't save my hours.
Every open day needs both an open and a close time, and the close time must come after the open time. Fix the day the page points to and save again.
My after-hours messages never reach me.
Messages come by text only when Text alerts are on and a Mobile phone is saved on Profile. Otherwise they come by email to your account address, so check your inbox and spam. If you expect texts, check Profile → Mobile phone for a typo. Every alert also shows on the Notifications page.
