What callers hear
Sarah tells every caller she is an AI before anything else happens. There is no setting to turn this off. By default she opens with:
"Thanks for calling [your business], this is [name], the AI assistant. How can I help you today?"
[name] is the name in the What callers call her field on the Voice page. If you leave it blank, she uses Sarah or Jake, depending on the voice you picked.
Wording by state
Some states have their own rules about bots identifying themselves, so the wording follows the state your business is in. Ansa reads the state from the Main addresson your Profile. The caller's area code plays no part: a caller from out of state hears the wording for your state.
California and Illinois:after introducing herself, Sarah adds a short sentence saying plainly that she is an AI, not a person. In California it is: "Quick note, as California law requires: I'm an AI, not a person."
Every other state: the default greeting above, which already says she is the AI assistant.
State not known:if Ansa can't tell your state from your address, Sarah uses the same plain default wording.
Ansa discloses on every call in every state, whether or not a local law requires it. The state only changes how much she says, never whether she says it.
The record on each call
Open any call from the Calls page. The Complianceline shows the disclosure recorded for that call and its jurisdiction: a state code such as CA, or default. If it says "No disclosure was recorded for this call," email hello@tryansa.ai with the time of the call.
Ansa keeps this disclosure record longer than the transcript (five years by default), so you can show what callers were told even after the transcript is cleared at 30 days.
Changing the greeting
You can change the name Sarah uses yourself, on the Voice page. It applies on her next call. The rest of the greeting can only be changed by the Ansa team: email hello@tryansa.ai with the wording you want.
Keep your address right
Because the wording follows your state, your Main address should be where your business actually operates. The same address also sets your time zone, which decides when Sarah treats a call as inside or outside your hours. If you move, update it under Profile; the new wording applies from the next call.
If you need different wording for a legal reason, email us what it should say.
